At midnight, a twelve-year-old payroll server accepts a remote login from a contractor account that should have closed in March. Nobody on the current team owns the server. Before touching it, Ollandi maps what depends on it: the payroll export, a cloud reporting job and a file transfer to the bank. With the On-premises DIP, remote access is restricted and the contractor's sessions are revoked. The payroll export keeps running. The server gets an owner, the stale account goes to IT for removal, and the night is on record from login to lockout. No system is shut down without your team.
